  1. How did you manage to get these work experience placements??

    • Hi Natalia,

Most of them were gained through getting an email address contact from someone I knew who had been there. Alternatively, try calling the main desk and asking who is the best contact to email your CV and covering letter to.

Create a great CV with all your journalism experience on, and write a short cover letter highlighting your strengths and why you’d love to do a placement there.

I also got a placement through Twitter, and another through LinkedIn – keep your profile updates and location correct so people can contact you, and update your overview to state you are looking for placements.

      Good luck!

      • Hi, do you have any emails I could use to contact for work experience placements, because I’m finding it difficult as companies aren’t responding to the emails I’ve sent 😦

      • Hi Natalia,

Best bet is for you to ring up the news desk, and ask who to contact about work experience.

If that doesn’t work, single out some people who are reporters/section editors and target them directly. Hope it helps!
